Biography

Swimming has aways been as natural as breathing for MacKenzie, from the early years swimming in the icy waters of Marsh Lake, Yukon with her brother Ryan, to competing in the World Championships in Melbourne, Australia and the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India. MacKenzie is most at home in the water. “I just love being underwater,” she says. “It's a whole different world down there.”

This love of water has accompanied MacKenzie as a Whitehorse Glacier Bear, a University of Victoria Vike, a member of the Canadian National Swim Team, a member of Team Canada and now as a member of the Victoria Academy of Swimming as she pursues her dream of competing on the Canadian World Championship Team in Barcelona in 2013.
